Amr Diab, egyptian singer, born october 11th, 1961 in Port Said city (Egypt).
It was his father Abdelbasset Diab who encouraged Amr to choose a career path in music as he was himself fond of music.
At the age of six, Amr Diab sang for the first time a song 'Biladi' and got a guitar as reward for his performance.
In the 1986, Amr Diab entered the Music Academy of Cairo. Fresh from, he released the break-through album: ''Mayaal'' in 1988 followed by ''Shawkkna'', ''Matkhafesh'' and ''Weylomony''.
Another hit album of Amr Diab was ''Habiby'', released in 1996. The title song ''Nour El Ein'' was a worldwide success.
Amr Diab is now one of the highest selling Middle Eastern artists with three World Music Award, 1998, 2002 and 2007.
